The Fullness of Time: Getting the Theology of Christmas Right
• Hal Wynn
Don't let the busyness of the holiday season overshadow the profound theological truth of Christmas! This sermon dives into Galatians 4:4-5 to establish the central, defining moment of history: the birth of Jesus Christ. Pastor explores five critical points about Christ's coming: Christ's Definity: Jesus is the "Theory of Everything," the creator, sustainer, and explanation for all of time and the universe. His arrival was perfectly timed. Christ's Deity: God "sent forth his Son." Jesus is God the Son, and His divine nature makes His redemptive work sufficient for all of creation. Christ's Humanity: He was "born of a woman," making Him fully human—capable of representing us completely. Christ's Obedience: He was "born under the law," meaning He perfectly fulfilled all of its requirements, acting as our flawless substitute. Christ's Mercy/Goal: The ultimate purpose was not just forgiveness, but to "redeem" us so that we might "receive adoption as sons," bringing us into the intimate, eternal fellowship of God's family. Learn why the baby in the manger defines all of history and why Jesus is the key to experiencing the "life of God in the soul of man."
